Privacy Policy

Effective date: 1 June 2026

Australian Licensing (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect personal information in connection with our QBCC licence pathway support services.

We are a Queensland-based business providing administrative preparation support. We are not a law firm, a registered training organisation, or a QBCC-accredited agent. Nothing in this policy or on our website constitutes legal advice.

1. What information we collect

We collect the following categories of personal information when you interact with our website or enquire about our services:

  • Identity information: your full name
  • Contact details: mobile phone number and email address
  • Referral contact details: name and contact information of any person who referred you to us
  • Licensing information: the type of QBCC licence you are seeking, your nominated role type (e.g. nominee, licensee), and your years of relevant industry experience
  • Payment information: billing details as processed by our payment provider (Stripe). We do not store your card details.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive information (such as health, biometric or criminal record information) unless it is directly relevant to and necessary for a specific service request, and you have provided your explicit consent.

2. How we collect your information

We collect personal information in the following ways:

  • Website forms: contact forms, enquiry forms, referral submission forms and onboarding intake forms on australianlicensing.com.au
  • Email correspondence: when you contact us directly at contact@australianlicensing.com.au
  • Chat widget: if you use our on-site chat widget (powered by Chatbase), your messages and any contact details you provide may be collected
  • Payment processing: when you make a payment through our Stripe-powered checkout

Where practicable, we collect personal information directly from you. If we collect information about you from a third party (for example, a referral partner), we will take reasonable steps to notify you of that collection.

3. Why we collect your information

We collect, hold and use your personal information for the following primary purposes:

  • To assess your eligibility and provide QBCC licence pathway support services
  • To respond to your enquiries and communicate with you about your licence application preparation
  • To send you transactional and service-related emails (delivered via Resend, our email service provider)
  • To process payments via Stripe
  • To administer our referral programme and attribute referral payments
  • To improve our services and website
  • To comply with our legal and regulatory obligations

We will not use your personal information for direct marketing without your consent, and you may opt out of any marketing communications at any time by contacting us or using the unsubscribe link in any email we send.

4. How we store and protect your information

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification and disclosure. Our security measures include:

  • Encrypted transmission: all data submitted via our website is transmitted over TLS (HTTPS) encryption
  • Access controls: access to personal information is limited to personnel who require it to deliver our services
  • Reputable service providers: we use established, security-certified third-party platforms (see section 5)

We retain your personal information for as long as it is needed to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by law. When information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it securely.

If we become aware of a data breach that is likely to result in serious harm to you, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) in accordance with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under the Privacy Act.

5. Third-party service providers

We may disclose your personal information to trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating our business. These providers are contractually obliged to handle your information in accordance with applicable privacy laws and only for the purposes for which it was disclosed:

Resend (email delivery)

We use Resend to send transactional emails (e.g. enquiry confirmations, onboarding communications). Your name and email address are shared with Resend solely for this purpose. Resend’s privacy policy is available at resend.com/legal/privacy-policy.

Stripe (payment processing)

We use Stripe to process payments. Your payment card details are collected and stored by Stripe; we do not receive or store your card number. Stripe is PCI-DSS compliant. Stripe’s privacy policy is available at stripe.com/en-au/privacy.

Chatbase (chat widget)

Our website uses a chat widget powered by Chatbase. If you interact with the chat widget, your messages and any contact details you voluntarily provide may be processed by Chatbase. Chatbase’s privacy policy is available at chatbase.co/privacy-policy.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

We may also disclose your personal information where required or authorised by law (for example, to a government agency or court).

6. Your rights under the Australian Privacy Act 1988

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:

  • Access: request access to the personal information we hold about you
  • Correction: request that we correct personal information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading
  • Deletion: request that we delete your personal information (subject to any legal retention obligations)
  • Complaint: lodge a complaint if you believe we have interfered with your privacy
  • Opt-out: withdraw consent to direct marketing at any time

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details in section 9 below. We will respond to your request within 30 days. In some circumstances we may need to verify your identity before processing your request.

If you are not satisfied with our response to a privacy complaint, you have the right to escalate your complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or by calling 1300 363 992.

7. Requesting access or deletion

To request access to or deletion of your personal information, please send a written request to contact@australianlicensing.com.au. Please include your full name, the email address associated with your account or enquiry, and a description of the information you wish to access or have deleted.

We will acknowledge your request within 5 business days and provide a substantive response within 30 days. If we are unable to fulfil your request (for example, because we are required by law to retain the information), we will explain why.

We do not charge a fee for access requests unless the request is complex or requires substantial resources, in which case we will notify you of any applicable fee before proceeding.

8. Cookies and analytics

Our website does not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics platforms by default. We do not place advertising cookies or use cross-site tracking technologies.

Certain third-party services embedded in our website (such as the Chatbase chat widget and Stripe payment forms) may set their own cookies in accordance with those providers’ privacy policies. These cookies are set by the respective third parties and are governed by their own privacy practices.

Your browser settings allow you to control the acceptance and deletion of cookies. Disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of third-party features on our website.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology or legal requirements. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Your continued use of our services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
